About

A large day-use bathing complex on the Narusawa plateau, with open-air baths that look directly out at Mt. Fuji. Alongside the two outdoor rotenburo, there is an indoor bath, a cave bath with lava-stone walls (a nod to the nearby Fuji lava caves), a carbonated pool, sauna, steam sauna, and a cold spring bath. Natural onsen water throughout.

190. Fuji Yurari Hot Spring, Yamanashi ★★ A super sento near Narusawa Station, not far from Lake Saiko. Also relatively close are various caves, including an ice cave, a wind cave, and Batman Cave. Admission is ¥1,700 with towels. They stamp the Yamanashi 100 onsen stamp rally, and the main rock bath is featured on the cover of the stamp booklet for this achievement. There is a set of private baths, which I did not use, massage, which was excellent, a restaurant, a shop with food and merch, chill-out areas, and even separate rooms for resting and eating. There is also a smoking area, though it is not very conveniently located, and there is a slight smell nearby. I took the bath photos from the official site. They give a sense of the real place, but do not match it exactly. It seems part of them is from the women's section, but it still looks very similar. 1. Baths on the upper floor. 1.1. Indoor bath. There is a view of Fuji. The water is clear, temperature 42. It is comfortable to breathe inside. 1.2. Small outdoor bath. View of Fuji. The water is clear, temperature 42. 2. On the lower floor. 2.1. Main large outdoor rock bath with a view of Fuji. The view is pleasant. The water is clear, temperature 42. 2.2. Bath in a small building with jet zones. The water is clear, there is a noticeable chlorine smell, temperature 38. 2.3. Cave bath with strong bubbles. It looks very cool inside, but it is heavily chlorinated, to the point that it starts stinging your eyes if you sit there for a while. Temperature 38. 2.4. Sauna. 2.5. Steam sauna. 2.6. Cold-water bath. 2.7. A little tucked away, an indoor carbonated-water bath. The water temperature is between warm and hot. It is comfortable to breathe inside. If you are planning a trip to Lake Saiko or the caves, this is definitely worth a stop. It is a very good place. I would even say that if you are deciding where to go among the Five Lakes, it is worth coming here and then building the rest of the trip around visiting other tourist spots in the area, with an onsen stop in between. With a view of Fuji, it would be even better. 14.07.2024
