A private bath you can reserve for yourself or your group

A small family-run ryokan in Iwaki, in business since the late Edo period. The water is clear and feels slippery and smooth on the skin, which is what most visitors remark on. The inn also has a bath that can be reserved for private use by staying guests, and one guest room comes with its own small round ceramic tub. Local legend says a wounded samurai once washed his injuries in this spring and healed at once, and that a couple who came here to take the waters were blessed with a child, so it is also called the "child-granting bath" (子授けの湯, Kozuke-no-yu). Every year on the 10th day of the ninth month of the old calendar, the inn holds a festival (湯神祭, Yugami-sai) to thank the spring's god. Parking is free. Bath-only day use (立ち寄り湯, tachiyori-yu) is currently suspended.
