About

A bathing facility with rooms on the Japan Sea side of Akita, built around a big public bath with onsen water, where you soak while looking out over the sea. There are wood and rock baths, with indoor and open-air bathing, plus a sauna with a TV, a cold plunge and a bubble bath. The men's and women's baths swap every day, so both sides get a turn. Ganbanyoku (岩盤浴, heated stone bed bathing) is available only on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. A restaurant, a shop and a large car park round it out, and day visitors are welcome as well as guests staying the night.
