Hana Rebun

Hana Rebun's fourth-floor bath, Hanami-no-yu (花海の湯), draws on a hot spring called Usuyuki-no-yu (うすゆきの湯) for both its indoor tub and its open-air bath, separate for men and women, and both look out toward Rishiri Fuji across the water. Some sea-facing rooms have their own open-air tub with the same view, but that one runs on ordinary water rather than the spring. The inn is run by a local seafood company, and dinner leans on that connection: sea urchin, hokke, botan shrimp and Rishiri kelp show up on the table, with kelp water available in the bath's rest area afterward. It is a short walk from the Kafuka ferry terminal on Rebun, the flower island off Hokkaido's northern tip.
