Gomado Yuttarikan is a town-owned bathhouse in Tagami, near Yutagami onsen. The rotenburo (露天風呂) looks out over the Niigata plain and the town, and the indoor bath sits higher still, so the view from inside is even wider. There are two baths, each with a lukewarm tub (nuruyu, ぬる湯) and an esthetic bath (エステバス). The Ajisai-no-yu (あじさいの湯) also has a stone-stove sauna and a cold plunge. The spring water is drinkable, and there is a tap on the way from the walkway to the entrance. The men's and women's baths swap every Saturday, so you can try both. Besides the baths there is a restaurant using local ingredients and a large tatami hall where you can bring your own food and drink.
