Uses natural hot spring water
Shared bathing area for all genders
Baths are gender-separated (男女別); no mixed-bathing offering mentioned anywhere.
Hutte Hoshi is a small family-run minshuku in Norikura Kogen where a milky white, acidic sulfur spring is kept flowing fresh through the baths. The gender-separated indoor bath and outdoor rotenburo are set in tubs of hiba (ヒバ) wood, and a private bath can be arranged on request. Bring your own towel; rental is available if you need one. The Hoshina couple who run the inn also grow their own rice, vegetables, and fruit, and the home-cooked meals are built around what comes off the farm. It has the feel of staying with relatives in the countryside rather than checking into a hotel, and the inn opens on days set around the family's own apple and pear harvest rather than a fixed weekly schedule.
