Omoide Romankan

Omoide Romankan sits beside the river below Fukuroda Falls, with a streamside open-air bath in a separate building that runs straight from the spring. There's also an indoor bath, a garden open-air bath, and premium rooms with their own in-room bath fed by the same water, a cypress tub in the Japanese-style room and a granite or marble tub in the twin. The water is known locally as bijin no yu (美人の湯), beauty-skin water, for how smooth it leaves the skin. The spring is said to date to the Heian period, dried up at one point, and was revived in 1936 by the inn's founder as one of Ibaraki's first hot springs. The ryokan runs as an all-inclusive stay, with free-flow drinks and snacks, a lounge and a game room alongside the baths.
