Taiko no Yu is a day-use bathhouse on the edge of Mikasa, drawing on natural hot-spring water. The open-air baths are split between a hinoki tub and one lined with teppo-ishi stone, alongside an indoor bath and a reclining jet bath. A hot dry sauna pairs with a wood-built cold bath, and a separate mist sauna holds a ganbanyoku (hot stone) room floored with volcanic rock the site traces to Mt. Fuji. The building has a timber-framed, old-fashioned feel, with two lounge areas for resting after a soak and a restaurant for a meal afterward.
