Yatomisou is a ryokan on the Ariake Sea best known locally for its crab dinners, with a plain, simple-spring bath (tanjun onsen, 単純温泉) alongside. The large indoor bath is split by gender and has a standing shower waterfall (utaseyu). Upstairs, two private reservation baths look out over the water, one of them built in the shape of a boat; both are free for overnight guests to use as many times as they like while open. Two rooms also come with their own open-air bath. The inn faces the Ariake Sea, with Mount Unzen visible across the water on a clear day.
