Shosen

Shosen (松扇) is a small family-run inn in a residential part of Onahama, in Iwaki, listed under the Harakita (原木田) onsen name. Rooms are simple tatami ones, and there is a bath for guests. It feels closer to a minshuku than a polished ryokan: homey, a little old-fashioned, with friendly staff. Dinner is the thing visitors remember, a big plate of fresh sashimi and plenty of other dishes. The lane to the inn is narrow, so drive in carefully.
