About
Matsushima Ichinobo is a resort hotel above Matsushima Bay with two separate bathing areas. On the top floor, the open-air bath Happyaku Yashima and the indoor and open-air bath Godaikan look out over the bay's islands, with the men's and women's hours alternating through the day. On the ground floor, Niwa ga SPA has its own indoor bath along with a co-ed auto-loyly sauna and a ganbanyoku (岩盤浴) room, a heated rock bed you lie on rather than a steam room. The spring water is alkaline and simple in composition, and feels smooth and slightly silky on the skin.
