The spring water here is smooth and silky on the skin. It surfaced during nearby tunnel construction, which is how Kitaguni Grand Hotel's onsen got its name, Tsuruga Tunnel Onsen. Bathing is in one large indoor bath for men and one for women, with no rotenburo or sauna. Rooms face either the sea toward Tsuruga Bay or the mountains behind the city. Day-use bathing is available.
