Hotel Shiroi Todai

The hotel's open-air bath looks straight out over Hiwasa Bay and the Pacific. The water is clear and faintly salty, and recent guests mention a sauna and a cold-water tub set up alongside it. Every guest room faces the ocean too. Beyond the bath, the hotel is known for the rescue cats that live throughout the building, with part of the grounds also kept open for local strays; it won't suit anyone who dislikes cats or has allergies, but it's the reason many people book a stay here. The hotel sits about two kilometers from Yakuoji (薬王寺), the 23rd temple on the Shikoku pilgrimage route, serves fresh local sashimi at dinner, and includes an ocean-view breakfast.
