Reviewer (Oct 2025, post-reopening) confirms the single outdoor bath is mixed-gender with separate changing-room entrances; consistent with the site's day-use listing showing only one unisex outdoor bath (vs. explicit men's/women's split for the indoor bath).

About
A small inn near Moriyoshiyama in the mountains of Akita, Chiisana Mori no Yu draws sodium-calcium chloride-sulfate water. The open-air mixed bath in the forest is the draw, raw and relaxed, with that unmistakable atmosphere of a rural Tohoku onsen where nature is right at the edge of the tub.
