A compact outdoor foot bath sitting in the heart of Ureshino onsen town, free to anyone who passes by. The water is real onsen water from the Ureshino springs, clear and smooth on the skin. The spot is named for Philipp Franz von Siebold, the Dutch physician who visited Ureshino during the Edo period. It gets busy, but people move on quickly.

The ashiyu is located in a small square. The water is clear, odorless, and not too hot. The area around it is nicely arranged with large stones. There are restrooms nearby in the same square. About 50 meters from the ashiyu, near the Ureshino Public Hot Spring (Siebold's Bath) building, there is a parking lot where you can park for free for 90 minutes. 2025.09.28
