About

A city-run bathhouse in Myoko Kogen that uses hot-spring water from the Mount Myoko area. There is one bath each for men and women, indoors only, and it is small and plain: a few washing stations, body soap and rinse-in shampoo, no towels to rent. The water is gentle and leaves you warm long after you get out. The building was once a company retreat, and it still feels like one. It opens early, which suits a morning soak after a hike, and the staff at the desk keep the bath from getting crowded. There is a tatami rest room too. Higaeri nyuyoku (日帰り入浴, day-use bathing) is open to non-residents as well as locals.
