Hotel Hayashi

This is a simple, inexpensive business hotel a short walk from Beppu Station, with its own men's and women's onsen baths. The men's bath is on the roof, looking out over the city and Mount Takasaki, and the water in the guest rooms comes from the same source. It's an old building and reviewers note the wear, but guests also get free access to the baths at several affiliated sister hotels nearby, so there's more than one onsen to try within walking distance.
