Tsuru no Yu (鶴の湯) is a small, unmanned communal bathhouse that has served the Sanbe Onsen (三瓶温泉) area for generations. There is one indoor bath, men's and women's separated by a wooden partition thin enough that neighbors can still call out a greeting. The water is a reddish-brown iron spring, run kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し) with no added water or disinfection, and the spring also flows freely in a channel beside the tub so you can feel it straight from the source. The building is old, the changing room is wooden, there are no showers or amenities to speak of, and the ticket goes into an unmanned fee box. That bare-bones setup is the whole point: this is a jimosen (地元銭湯), a neighborhood bath for the people who live here.
