A hilltop bath and sauna site in Joetsu that is booked by one group at a time, so the whole grounds are yours. The open-air bath has sulfur water and a view of the Sea of Japan, Sado Island and the plain below. There is a wood-fired cypress sauna outdoors and three cold plunges, one of them deep. It opened in 2025 on the site of an older bath that goes back to the 18th century. No food is served, but there are barbecue grills and a kitchen, so bring your own. It closes for the winter because the access road is not cleared of snow.
