Shikisai Ichiriki is a ryokan in Bandai-Atami, a spring town said to have opened some 800 years ago in the Kamakura period. Men's and women's baths are separate, each with an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and there is a sauna too. The lukewarm nuruyu (ぬる湯) bath is the one to note, a gentle soak you can stay in for a long time. The water feels smooth on the skin. Guest rooms have their own baths, but those are not spring water, and there is no private bath for rent. Bathing is for overnight guests only, as the inn does not take onsen-only visitors. Guests mention the large garden seen from the lobby, the careful service and the dinner courses.
