About

Mizusawa Onsen Kan is a day-use bathhouse at the foot of Mt. Gassan, right on Route 112 and next to the Michi-no-Eki Nishikawa roadside station. It has two large indoor baths, Gassan and Yakushi, with plenty of wash stations. The water is clear, colorless and a little smooth on the skin. There is a sauna (paid separately) and a cold plunge pool that reviewers single out, plus an outdoor-air area that switches between the men's and women's sides by day. A free large rest hall and a big parking lot make it an easy stop on the drive. It leans toward sauna fans, and the crowd follows: outdoor-air days are busier.
