Takadai no Yado Sankei

Takadai no Yado Sankei stands on a rise above the Sea of Japan at Unohama Onsen, with pine woods behind it and the coastline in front. The communal bath is on the small side, filled with clear, salty chloride water that carries a trace of iron, leaving brown mineral deposits in the tub and a smooth, faintly silky feel on the skin. An open-air bath adjoins it, though it reads more like a walled, roofed alcove than a fully open-air tub. Several rooms come with their own half-outdoor tub, but those run on ordinary hot water rather than the spring, so the mineral bath is only in the shared bathhouse downstairs.
