Perched on the hillside above Beppu, Choubounoyado Shiori runs free-flowing (kakenagashi) spring water through a large bath hall with both an indoor pool and an open-air rotenburo facing Beppu Bay and Takasaki Mountain. The communal baths are split men's and women's, and there is a sauna in each. In a separate annex, two private family baths (one hinoki, one stone) can be reserved. A garden foot bath rounds out the bathing options.
