Ooarai Park Hotel sits on the coast in Oarai, Ibaraki, and it's one of the few hotels in the area with genuine onsen water, salty and said to keep you warm long after you're out of the bath. The main bathing floor is split for men and women, each side with an indoor bath and an open-air one, plus a single sauna that swaps between men and women mornings and evenings. Several suite rooms have their own sauna and cold-plunge tub, though the water in those room baths isn't from the spring; only the separate Park Villa has a private onsen bath of its own, alongside its own sauna. The hotel has been renovated in stages through 2025 and 2026, and rooms look out over the sea or the pine woods around the property.
