Kitaura Kohansho stands alone on the shore of Lake Kitaura, reached past rice paddies and lotus fields. Baths are indoor and open-air, including a half-private rotenburo, with smooth, faintly amber water that some guests notice softens the skin; a cold-water bath is added in season. Day use here is a reservation-only package for up to two groups a day, pairing private bathing with a set lunch served in your own room.
