Amasaki no Iyashi

Amasaki no Iyashi is a ganbanyoku (岩盤浴) spa in Sakata. You lie on heated stone beds in a gently humid room and sweat slowly, which visitors describe as a different kind of reset from a sauna or an onsen soak. There is a cooling area to rest in, and now and then water is splashed over the stones for a burst of steam. Massage chairs are on site, and the shower is a single one.
