A one-month pass costs 11,200 yen for adults and 5,600 yen for children, with a discounted rate for groups of 15 or more. The tatami rest hall is for bathers only and costs about 250 yen extra per person. Renting a bath towel is 300 yen.

This town-run day bath in Shonai has an indoor tub that runs at a normal heat, an open-air bath around a courtyard kept a little cooler, a Finnish-style sauna with automatic loyly bursts, and a small cold plunge to finish the round. Regulars come specifically for the sauna. The water runs faintly brown and leaves skin smooth, kept flowing fresh from the source. A small gallery of art tied to Shonai and Yamagata wraps around the lounge, and there's a small eatery by the entrance. It's a neighborhood spot, drawing everyone from small kids to elderly bathers rather than out-of-town visitors.
