Fukuda Kyodo Yokujo

A small public bathhouse at the edge of Yunoko Onsen (湯の児温泉), in a plain prefab shed set back from the road that is very easy to walk straight past. Inside there is one tiled tub on each side, big enough for about three people, filled with undiluted, unheated water straight from the spring. It is a sodium bicarbonate and chloride spring, clear and faintly salty, slippery on the skin with a bit of grip underneath. There is a valve on the pipe coming out of the wall so you can adjust the flow yourself. It started out as a place where local fishermen came to soak and is now run by Fukuda Farm (福田農場) up the hill. Nothing is provided, so bring soap and a towel.
