KomeYa is a ryokan in Yubara Onsen with six different baths guests can work through: a semi-open-air bath, another semi-open-air bath built around individual cast-iron kettle tubs at slightly different temperatures, two private family baths bookable at check-in, and a large and a medium indoor bath. Men's and women's sides swap on a set schedule through the day. The water is drawn straight from the Yubara source, colorless and clear, and leaves the skin feeling smooth. Some rooms come with their own private open-air bath. Yubara itself is an old onsen town of self-flowing springs, historically used by workers recovering from the region's traditional tatara ironmaking trade.
