Sano Onsen sits among rice fields on the edge of Fukui city, with two separate bathing halls, Sakae-no-yu and Uruwashi-no-yu, each with an indoor bath and a rotenburo, that swap between men's and women's use through the week. One hall has a hot dry sauna, the other a radium mist sauna. Alongside the shared baths there are private kashikiri baths filled with the same source water, kept flowing rather than recirculated, and bookable by day visitors as well as overnight guests. The spring water is also certified for drinking, with a fountain and posted guidance on how much to take. A restaurant on site serves lunch and dinner.
