Yuyado Kuttari Onsen Lake Inn is a hot-spring hotel on the shore of Kuttari-ko, at the headwaters of the Tokachi River in Hokkaido's Higashi-Taisetsu (東大雪) highlands. Natural hot-spring water fills a bright indoor bath and an open-air rotenburo that looks out over the surrounding greenery and the Taisetsu mountains, with a glimpse of the lake itself. The sauna is Finnish-style, with self-service loyly, followed by a deep, properly cold plunge bath. Past the plunge there is a separate fukan-no-yu (不感の湯), a bath kept close to body temperature, for another round of cooling down. The inn takes day visitors in the afternoon and evening as well as overnight guests. Reviews describe the baths and the place generally as calm and unhurried rather than showy.
