Hotel Isobe Garden is a large hot-spring hotel in Isobe onsen, an old stop for travelers on the Nakasendo road. Its bath house has six open-air tubs split between the men's and women's sides, hinoki wood alongside rough-cut rock pools, plus two indoor baths each and a sauna. The water is salty and iron-tinted. The second-floor observation bath looks down over the Usui River. Some rooms have their own open-air tub, though that water is not drawn from the hot spring. Bathing is for overnight guests only, no day-use visits.
