Bay Resort Hotel Shodoshima has its own hot spring source on the property. The main bath is on the top floor, with glass walls and a glass ceiling looking out over the Seto Inland Sea, and there's an open-air bath in the same spot where you can take in the stars and the sea breeze. The water runs iron-tinted and salty, warming and gentle on the skin. There's also a dry sauna and five separate private open-air tubs you can book on your own. The baths are for overnight guests only; day visits aren't offered. Every room in the hotel has an ocean view, and there's a restaurant, banquet halls and a seasonal outdoor pool in summer. It's an older building, kept clean, and the sea view from the bath, especially at sunset, is what most visitors remember.
