Kairo

Kairo sits on a hill above Shodoshima's Angel Road, with baths split by gender: an open-air bath that looks straight down over the sandbar and the Seto Inland Sea, plus large indoor baths. There's no private bath to book, and none of the rooms have their own hot spring bath, so bathing means a trip up to the shared baths. The spring water runs salty on the skin. The hotel bills itself as Shodoshima's most historic hot spring inn, and the view over Angel Road and Shikoku's coast beyond is the main reason people stay.
