Shodoshima International Hotel

Shodoshima International Hotel stands right beside Angel Road, the sandbar that appears at low tide and lets you walk out to a small island in the bay; the view across to Yashima reaches into many of the rooms and into the baths themselves. The two large baths, Olive-no-yu and Hamakaze-no-yu, swap between men's and women's hours through the day. Only their open-air baths use real hot-spring water, soft and mild on the skin and gentle enough for kids and older guests; the indoor baths run on heated water rather than the spring. The hotel itself is a full resort, with a summer garden pool, banquet halls and its own dining room, and its baths are for overnight guests only.
