About

A small mountain lodge in Asahi town, Yamagata, with a view of Mount Oasahidake in front. The baths use hot-spring water, and the lodge keeps shampoo and body soap in the bathroom. On quiet weekdays one bath is shared by men and women in turns, and on busy days there are two. Guests sleep upstairs on futon in tatami rooms, six rooms of different sizes. Handmade soba lunch is served only on certain days, mostly while the climbers' bus runs. The lodge is open only from spring to early November, and day-use bathing is offered mainly while the climbers' bus runs; at other times the lodge may take overnight guests only, so contact it before coming for a bath.
