About
A small public foot bath (ashiyu, 足湯) in Yumachi, the spot where Kaminoyama onsen is said to have begun. It sits next to Yakushido and is free to use. The water is clear and smooth, and on the warm side, so most people settle in quickly. There is a hand bath (teyu, 手湯) beside it that runs hotter. It is tight enough that you will hear your neighbours' conversations, and it tends to be a local hangout. Parking is free right in front, though the approach is a narrow lane.
