Yura hot spring Yaotome

Yura Onsen Yaotome runs two large communal baths, one in each wing: the west wing's bath opens onto a rotenburo that catches the sea breeze, the east wing's has a sauna, and both keep separate sides for men and women. One of the special guest rooms has its own hinoki-wood tub filled with the hotel's onsen water. The hotel sits right on the beach at Yura, on the Sea of Japan coast in Tsuruoka, and every room has an ocean view; the coast here is registered as one of Japan's top-100 sunset spots, so watching the sun go down over the sea is part of the stay. Dinner is built around seafood bought directly from the local fishing port.
