A hotel in the hills of Minamiaizu, Fukushima, where the bath water is soft and slightly silky on the skin. Guests use separate men's and women's baths that swap in the morning, and there are private baths (kashikiri, 貸切) that can be reserved in short slots, four groups a day. One room type has its own spring-fed bath. There is no sauna. Day visitors can now bathe with a multi-visit card, and they are welcome at the evening stargazing session when the weather allows. The place is known for its clear night skies, wood-heavy rooms and local-ingredient cooking.
