Day Use
YesDay-use bathing runs until 22:00, with last entry at 21:30. There's no fixed weekly closed day, but the facility usually closes for a couple of days around June each year for maintenance, with the exact dates announced closer to the time.
Adult day-use bathing is 850 yen on weekdays and 900 yen on weekends and holidays; children pay 500 yen either way, and children under 3 bathe free. The price doesn't include a towel or house clothes; both can be rented for a small extra fee.

This ryokan sits inland from central Onomichi, in the hilly Mitsugi district, built around a natural hot spring. The indoor bath is a rock bath with an old, weathered feel, and the rotenburo lets you soak outside in the mountain air, with a clear view of stars on a good night. There's also an infrared sauna with a cold plunge, plus a lukewarm bath, nuruyu (ぬる湯), set alongside the hotter tubs for a longer soak. Two restaurants share the building, one per floor, and the rooms themselves stay plain and unshowy: clean and simple rather than fancy.
