Yamaguchi Yuda Onsen Kokian

Every one of Kokian's 16 rooms has its own half open-air bath, filled with hot spring water that is kept flowing rather than left standing. The inn also keeps separate communal baths for men and women: an indoor bath under a high, wood-beamed ceiling, and an outdoor rotenburo, with a resting area nearby and a foot bath on the terrace by the garden. Rooms are few and the inn sits back from the street behind a garden of trees and a pond, so it feels quiet even though it's right in the middle of Yuda Onsen. It takes overnight guests only, no day-use bathing.
