About

Akayu Motoyu is a public bathhouse in Akayu Onsen, opened in October 2008 by merging two older communal baths, Oyu (大湯) and Tanba-yu (丹波湯). The men's and women's baths are both on the second floor, each with two indoor tubs: one hot, one noticeably milder (regulars call it nurui-yu, 「ぬりぃ湯」). Two hot springs feed them. It is a neighborhood bath rather than a resort, so soap and shampoo are not provided and you bring your own. There is a small parking lot.
