Uses natural hot spring water
Open-air outdoor bath
Official site separately states the outdoor bath is closed in winter to prevent freezing (冬期は凍結防止のため露天風呂はお休みさせていただきます). A third-party inn-report (hitoritabi.sakura.ne.jp) names two distinct private outdoor baths, 「山」(Mountain) and 「川」(River), along a ravine, closed overnight 23:00–dawn — not verified on the official site this run.
Enclosed indoor bathing area
Private bath available for day-use visitors or hotel guests to reserve
Shared bathing area for all genders
Indoor bath is described as gender-separated (男女別); the two outdoor baths are booked exclusively per group (kashikiri), not mixed-use. The official site's own bath-layout page was not among the pages crawled this run, so this rests on a third-party inn-report rather than the site itself.
Shower, wash stations, soap and shampoo provided
On-site or nearby parking available
A 2026 Google review notes there is no dedicated motorcycle parking area (バイク置き場は特にありませんので夜露に濡れます).
Gasthof Sengoku has a private open-air bath set along a ravine, filled with milky, sulfur-tinged water from Norikura Kogen Onsen (乗鞍高原温泉). Trees grow close along the bank, and the sound of the river carries into the bath. There's also a gender-separated indoor bath, and the outdoor one closes over winter to keep it from freezing. The inn sits at the eastern foot of Mt. Norikura, up in Norikura Kogen, reached along a mountain road that winds through a run of tunnels into the highlands.
