Aobaso is a family-run inn in Norikura Kogen with milky, sulfur-scented water that runs straight from the spring without stopping. There are five baths in total: two indoor (one in cypress wood), two outdoor, and a reservable family bath, two of them named Aoba-no-yu (青葉の湯) and Keiryu-no-yu (渓流の湯). The men's and women's sides swap each morning and evening, so an overnight stay lets you try both. Day-use bathing is available, and the family bath can be booked on its own too. It's a handy base for trips into Kamikochi and Shirahone Onsen. The lobby has a wood stove for reading and relaxing, and the proprietress cooks with local ingredients.
