YesDay use is mainly on weekends; weekdays on request. Slots: 10:30-11:20, 11:30-12:20, 12:30-13:20, 13:30-14:20 (last entry 13:30). Slots may be cut or closed on busy lodging days, announced on social media. Closed on August 13 and over the New Year (December 31 to January 1).
1,200 yen for adults, for a 50-minute private bath slot (Reigan-no-yu). Children from age 3 to elementary school 600 yen; preschoolers free.

About
Matsuya is a kappo ryokan in Iwamuro Onsen, running since the days when it was a travelers' inn, more than 200 years ago. The baths are separate from the guest rooms and both are private: a party reserves one for the stay and uses it whenever it likes. The water is natural onsen, kakenagashi, and guests describe it as a dark, almost black bath that stains the bottom of the tub. Day visitors can book a 50-minute slot in the private bath Reigan-no-yu (霊雁湯), mainly on weekends.
