Mori No Yu Kira No Sato

The main bathhouse, Mori no Yu (杜の湯), has ten different baths, among them a cypress open-air tub fed by kakenagashi spring water and a cold plunge. A December 2025 renewal added a self-loyu sauna, where you control the steam yourself, plus a wooden tub bath. Three private open-air baths can be booked on top of that, and guests also mention an utaseyu (打たせ湯) waterfall bath among the indoor and outdoor options. The ryokan itself is built like a scattered satoyama (里山) village: four different lodging styles spread across forest and rice-field grounds in the hills above Ito, some rooms looking into the trees and others out toward the sea.
