Day Use
YesSame-day reception for bathing can close as early as 3:00pm instead of 5:00pm when the hotel is busy. Day-use booking for the four private baths must be phoned in from 8:00am on the day itself.
The 1,000 yen adult / 500 yen child rate above is for the shared indoor and outdoor baths. Each of the four private baths can also be booked for day use separately, 3,000 yen for a 50-minute session. A bath towel rents for 200 yen; the smaller onsen hand towel is sold, not rented, also for 200 yen.

About
Gokan no Yu Tsuruya is a traditional ryokan in Zao Onsen that draws its own hot spring, feeding the large indoor bath, an outdoor rotenburo and four separate private baths, each with its own mood. The baths are drained and refilled each morning, so the water runs clear in the early afternoon and turns milky by evening. Guests describe a smooth feel on the skin that warms all the way through. The building carries an old-fashioned Zao onsen atmosphere, kept carefully clean, with a quiet, attentive kind of service. Day-use bathing, including the private baths, is open in the afternoon.
