Hotel Kashiwa

Hotel Kashiwa (鮮の宿 柏) is a small inn in Iwaki Yumoto onsen. The bath is kakenagashi (源泉かけ流し) with a faint sulfur smell and slightly cloudy water, and guests can use it at any hour. Reviewers describe the bathing room as roomier than the photos suggest. The outside looks dated, but the guest rooms have been redone in a modern Japanese style, and each has its own shower room. Dinner and breakfast are served at the in-house crab restaurant (辛華) on the ground floor. The feel is casual and unfussy rather than lavish, which suits solo travelers well.
