This hotel above Nasu Kogen has two bathing floors that alternate between the sexes each day: one with a large indoor bath, sauna and jacuzzi, the other with a large bath, a rock-lined bath and an open-air bath, both looking out over the surrounding forest. The water is a simple sulfur spring, milky white and faintly scented with sulfur, the kind that leaves skin feeling smooth. Guests staying at the hotel bathe in the early morning and from mid-afternoon into the night, and walk-in day bathers are welcome in the afternoon as well.
