Chokai Onsen Yurari is an inn on the Sea of Japan coast in Yuza, the northernmost town on Yamagata's coast. The inn has its own large indoor bath on the second floor, filled with natural hot-spring water. A minute's walk away, the neighbouring Apon Nishihama (あぽん西浜) has open-air baths that use a different spring, so one stay covers two kinds of water. Baths are separated by gender. The restaurant on the seventh floor looks out over the sea, and rooms on the sixth floor face it too. The inn pitches itself on sunsets over the Sea of Japan with Mount Chokai behind. Day-use bathing (higaeri nyuyoku, 日帰り入浴) is available, and parking is free.
